　　Sergei Lukyanenko was born in Kazakhstan and educated as a psychiatrist. He began publishing science fiction work in the 1980s and is today the most popular science fiction writer in Russia.

　　1968年生於前蘇聯的哈薩克斯坦共和國，畢業於國立阿拉木圖醫學院，曾當過實習醫師，後來轉任《世界》科幻雜誌副總編輯。1988年發表首部作品──科幻短篇小說《毀滅》。1992年，小說《四十島騎士》廣獲好評，隔年，便轉為專職作家。至今出版小說數十部，並在國內得獎無數，包括俄國重要的「艾立塔獎」幻想文學發展貢獻獎史上最年輕的得獎人頭銜，是俄國當代最重要且最受歡迎的科幻奇幻小說家之一。
