Visiones del exilio: Para leer a Zoéeacute; Valdés is a study on the narrative work of Cuban writer Zoé Valdés. Valdés, who left the island in 1995 and currently lives in Paris, has published poetry, short stories, and novels. She also writes for Spanish and French newspapers and is an important cultural icon of Cuban exile.

Miguel González Abellás is chair of the Department of Modern Languages and associate professor of Spanish and Latin American literature at Washburn University (USA). He has previously published Jugando con estereotipos (Madrid: Pliegos, 2003), as well as several articles on Hispanic Caribbean literature in Alba de América, Caribe, Hispania and Hispanic Journal.
