Iola Bradly is torn from her family by a world destroyed by war and hatred. She must learn to grow without guidance, fending for herself in this hostel time of life with only her loyal shepherd by her side. Nightmares plague her dreams, but slowly they will help push her down the path she was destined to be on. One morning she awakes finding much more than she bargained for; an injured man fighting for life in the middle of the woods, who will start her on a new path. Together they will travel across the country, to save his friends and seek her revenge. Facing her fears, Iola will boat down the mighty Mississippi; cross mountains and anyone left standing in her way will face the wrath of her arrow. Iola and a few other survivors must battle for their own freedom and basic human rights. She will learn the meaning of love in all its forms, and the true value of every human life, no matter how minute their actions may seem. Relationships are formed; jealousy grows, lines are crossed, and lives are lost. Their tragic pasts haunt them, but it will not define them. Together they must step up to change the world and make a new beginning for the generations to follow.
