We live in a labyrinth with no way out. A monster pursues us. Contrary to mythical narratives, we are the ones who created the monster that pursues us: savage capitalism, which feeds on the blood of billions of starving children. The most serious thing is that we do not put an end to this monster that shakes the foundations of our homes and is sinking us; we worship it. We desire it, we make sacrifices to it. This work seeks to criticise capitalism by showing that it has become humanity’s new religion. Unlike the old religions, which, at least in theory, had the power to liberate man, wove moral rules of conduct for good, or preached love, this religion no longer does that; it pushes us into the abyss. With extensive references to various authors of the calibre of Edgar Morin, Walter Benjamin, G.
