Henry Green was born in Oxford in 1972. He studied Latin American Studies at the University of Portsmouth 1991-1995 and lived in Guanajuato for 13 months in 1992-1993 where he learned to speak fluent Spanish. Whilst researching his thesis on expat Mexican literature Henry corresponded with David Markson and Allen Ginsberg about the mythical Mexico experienced by foreign writers versus the real Mexico and the fine line that separates the two.
