Miranda Brinbergh (nom de plume) was born in Portugal but lives currently in the Netherlands where, after working a wide variety of jobs and having obtained a PhD in Medical Sciences, she became a fulltime writer and a fine artist. In her writing Brinbergh is influenced by poets such as Theodore Roethke, Fernando Pessoa, Rainer Maria Rilke, C. Milosz, Eugénio de Andrade and Wislawa Szymborska.
