When almost-14-year-old Avery arrives at her Aunt Minna's house for the summer, she doesn't anticipate all the quirky twists which lead to the best adventures of her life. As she befriends Garrett from down the street, explores the creeks with him, eats peach cobbler, listens to Aunt Minna ramble about the books she's writing, and meets a mysterious stranger from Aunt Minna's long-ago childhood, she begins to let go and enjoy her life, and ultimately gains a deeper understanding of who she is.
