It is 1962, and young Jimmy Keating is at a crossroads. He is the star pitcher of his high school baseball team, and is being scouted by the majors. At the same time, his washed up brother turned Irish mobster, Jack, is at odds with local gang boss, Michael O’Grady, and wants Jimmy to join his campaign. Jimmy Badavino was born in Troy, N.Y. He attended college in Vermont, and is married with three children. Making Soda Bread is his first screenplay. His first novel, The Fall of South Bridge, was released in 2009, and a Fifth Anniversary Edition of the book was released in December 2014. Badavino is currently working on a second novel and multiple screenplays. He and his wife have also released many children’s books from their studio in upstate New York.
