The Keepers of the Broken Blade are a force to be reckoned with in the land of Acadia. Dangalf the wizard, Doppelganger the warrior, Elftrap the healer, and Nerdraaage the thief spend every day tackling new quests and defeating the most evil of monsters.

Then they log off and get on with their humdrum lives.

Acadia exists only in the massive multiplayer online role-playing game Cronica. Dangalf the wizard is merely an avatar of Dangalf the man... until he isn’t.

After arriving at a mysterious inn in the middle of the wilderness, the Keepers find themselves transported to the real world of Acadia. They must learn to survive this dangerous land with no gold, no weapons and only the clothes on their backs. But they do know how to play the game!

The quests are perilous, the monsters bloodthirsty, and everyday life downright hilarious as the Keepers adjust to their medieval new home.

Meanwhile, an ancient evil once again stirs in Acadia. The Keepers may be new to this world, but they will have to decide whether or not they would give their lives to defend it. This isn’t a game, and each new adventure could be their last!

C. J. Deering was born in Portland, Maine. He was a sparring partner for an ISKA kickboxing world champion. (Sport of the future.) He attended the University of Southern California returning to Maine during the summer to work at a steel factory. He graduated from an elite writing program that no longer exists. Still looking for life experiences to imbue his writing, he drove an armored car on the mean streets of Los Angeles for two years. He was only shot once and that was in the company locker room. Today he is a fantasy author, historian, poet, and gamer.
