The Old Testament predicted and forshadowed Jesus Christ. This was especially accomplished through the sacrificial system which God instituted through Moses. In the background of these predictions and shadows of Jesus was the practice of sacrifice-related eating. This Old Testament worship practice prefigured New Testament worship, which also includes sacrifice-related eating. The New Testament worship-related eating of the Lord’s Supper directly links us to the sacrifice of Christ.
