Even before the long build-up to the 2016 United States presidential election, it seemed that Donald Trump’s loutish voice, orange-skinned face, and wispy combed-over hair were everywhere.  From his successful stint as NBC’s host of “The Apprentice,” to his occasional cameos in movies and TV shows, to his controversies surrounding various news events, his proclaimed wealth amid multiple bankruptcies, and of course his ever-present and often misguided tweets on Twitter—Mr. Trump just couldn’t, and wouldn’t, go away.

The jokes in this book, written and compiled by stand-up comedian Ellis Richardson before the crazy days of Trump’s Republican primaries and his ultimate win over Hillary Clinton for U.S. president, hearken back to a simpler time, when Americans could laugh over Donald’s hair, his previous wives and affairs, and all other things so atrociously Trump.  All that has changed now.  Who knows what the future of the U.S. holds under our new leader?  Perhaps one day scholars will view this book of jokes as a literary example of the smug dangers that liberals and Democrats unknowingly slipped into in the early days of the 2010s, when just the words “President Trump” spoken together may have made most people choke on their morning coffee.  Whatever the case, reading these hilarious (and often racy) jokes about Donald Trump still provide a guaranteed laugh riot.
