What Did You Do In School Today? is a whimsical "draw your own illustrations" book for children and would be illustrators.
Susan Belle Gerard-Schelinski is a retired elementary teacher living in Hawaii. She attended Western Washington University, Seattle Pacific University, Seattle University, Central Washington University and BYU-Hawaii, graduating from Brigham Young University-Provo. Sue holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Washington University. A life-long poet, Sue has self published two poetry books under the title "The Naked Heart-Molokai I and Poems. Susan draws from a multitude of experiences including work as a bugler, dishwasher, camp counselor, lifeguard, waitress, store clerk, certified nursing assistant, and retail floral clerk, in addition to teaching. Sue is a native of Bellingham, Washington. Presently, she and her husband, Jim, operate a Bed and Breakfast on Molokai where she enjoys music, reading, writing and playing with the grandchildren. Besides being used by individual artists, this book could be used by teachers as an enrichment activity for capable students who complete work early. A class book could be produced with each student completing a page. Pages could then be laminated and bound. This book could also be used for a school art contest or as a game at a birthday party, with the birthday person awarding prizes for his/her favorite drawings.
