It’s been a rough year for Alex. After losing her one true love to a snowboarding accident, she’s now ready to get her life back in order. Torn between staying in the apartment she shared with her late boyfriend and making a fresh break, she seeks out a roommate to live out the rest of her lease--giving her time to figure out her next move. But when her new roommate bails on moving day, the idea of finding a replacement is overwhelming. Luckily, her would-be roommate offers to send someone in her place. That someone is Callum. Her forest firefighting brother with a sexy Scottish accent and cute little dog, Fifi, who both need temporary accommodations.

Closed off to the idea of new love, Alex and Callum hit it off, becoming fast friends. She draws firm boundaries and ignores Callum’s flirty advances. But when an email arrives announcing an amateur pairs roller skating competition, Callum jumps to the rescue and agrees to be Alex’s partner.
