During adolescence, Eddie considers himself deformed with an exceptionally large 'appendage'. He believes his life is ruined. His rapidly developing member causes him nothing but trouble through grade school and junior high. He is ridiculed, bullied, and teased mercilessly.
In high school Eddie is attacked by a street gang led by hoodlum, Kerry Wheeler. Hospitalized, Eddie befriends a local policeman, Doug Lauder. Over the next year, Doug teaches Eddie a brutal but highly effective method of self-defense. He also councils the fatherless Eddie about his special endowment and women in general. He suggests that Eddie will eventually learn that he has been blessed rather than cursed.
Shortly after turning eighteen Eddie learns that the female population of his high school has been gossiping about him for years. They all wonder if the stories about Eddie's special 'equipment' are true.
Through his high school years Eddie has lusted after the gorgeous Allison Somerville, one year ahead of him. Little does he know she is the only young woman in the world who knows that his special secret is true. But she seems disgusted by it; and with him.
Finally one afternoon, Eddie Jr is introduced to a Jane McCrae, very pretty young lady on Eddie's running team. At a secluded swimming hole in a local river, Jane is astonished with what she finds under Eddie's shorts and provides an experience he will never forget.
Eddie decides to take dance lessons before graduation day. His dance instructor, a former Las Vegas showgirl, is deeply impressed with Eddie Jr and teaches Eddie a few tricks besides dancing.
On the night of the prom, Eddie gets even with the Wheeler gang and discovers that Allison has known his secret for years.
