Mattin is a young shepherd from Zuberoa, Basque Country (France). The Nazis have occupied all of France and Mattin’s father had to flee because he is a member of the resistance. During that period of time, Nazi airplanes downed an English spy plane and the airplane pilot is hiding in Mattin’s country house in Larregain. In order to get the pilot to the other side, they need the help of the Town Abbot. Don Txarles is not your typical priest; he is a smuggler and helps people secretly cross the border.
