Laura was from a small town where she grew up with a big family and life was simple. She had moved to New York City and secured a job as a marketing executive which she absolutely loved. But after she married Edward, who was an only child from a wealthy family, she started to realize that money was not everything and Edward was not someone who was capable of love. It seemed that he changed after his father's murder which was never solved. Laura was thirty six and longed for a baby but Edward did not share the same ideas. He was in love with himself and his money but not Laura. Laura left for California and while she tried to figure out what to do next and relaxed at the beach house, her creativity started to bubble to the surface. As she worked with her new ideas, she met the guy next door one morning after her run on the beach. His name was Kevin Khris and he seemed so perfect but being only twenty eight years old, Laura felt he was too young to want a serious relationship. Things got heated between the two of them. He made her feel things that she had never felt with anyone but she knew it was all just physical. After Laura was informed that Edward's mistress was twenty two, she did not take it well. He had bought Brandi a penthouse and deposited a couple million dollars into an account opened for her. Kevin was her sounding board when all of it went down. And as Laura appreciated his companionship and shoulder to cry on, she assured him that the relationship they had was never going to become more than what it was. But when she ends up running into Joe Venetti, a lost love from her past, while on her way to join a hiking group, things get complicated. She felt that he had been her soul mate before Edward but they were young and things just fell apart without knowing what actually happened. Seeing each other opened a door that had not been closed after all and they picked up from where they left off or so she thought. As Joe and Laura start to bond and spend more time together, Kevin finds out and he is less than happy for her. So, as the love triangle pursues, things really start to turn and the triangle is the last thing that anyone has on their mind. As the secrets of Edward's family become clearer to Laura and a big piece of the past comes to light, things become more dangerous for everyone around her and there is no place to hide. What she finds as she digs deeper into the Jennings family, will alter her life and everyone close to her forever.
