 The book is set in Livingstone, the tourist capital of Zambia. It follows five months in the life of middle aged accountant Kalubwa Kalubwa. At the beginning of the year he finds himself in between a rock and a hard place. Forced to make a decision, the choice he makes next combines with his own desperation and marital woes to send him down a dark path. It starts out innocent enough but by the climax, when secrets old and new unravel, his past finally catches up to him. And he soon learns that he isn't the only one with a secret or two. Who can he trust when everything and everyone is not what it seems.
