This paper presents the results of research carried out in Curitiba in the state of Paraná - Brazil, with the climbing plant Tropaeolum pentaphyllum, a plant native to the south of the country, now classified as vulnerable on the list of plants at risk of extinction in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. This species has food, medicinal and ornamental properties, the latter being the aim of this study.
