This collection of expert articles describes preventative measures and treatments for protozoan diseases that lead to spontaneous abortion in ruminants, not only to improve farm stock but to protect human consumers. Contributors begin by describing protozoan-related reproductive problems in cattle and sheep, admitting that absolute eradication is impossible. but give solid advice on prevention, diagnosis and treatment for neosporosis, taxoplasmosis, sarcocystosis and tritrichomonosis and control measures for each, and provide standards for differential diagnosis of protozoal abortion in sheep and cattle for infectious and non-infectious causes.
