It's not even a decade since the end of World War Two. The nation has almost returned to normal, but Davey Christopher, who is "seven-going-on-eight" wonders if life will ever be normal again. At Davey's house in an upper Mid-West farming community, it's Christmas. The "Santa Clause problem" is only one of the distressing mysteries that this young, aspiring detective must unravel.
