O. Timothy Laseinde is a teaching and research Associate Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Johannesburg. He is an NRF-rated established researcher, has authored/co-authored over 90 peer-reviewed articles, and has served as an external reviewer for notable publishers. He has vast experience interfacing with stakeholders in the industry, manufacturing sector, development agencies, and academia. As a proponent of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he has received notable awards and grants in line with innovative research involving multidisciplinary works.
Timothy has partnered with the British Council as a Program Manager in a USDP award, which has yielded significant results. He also partners with other international institutions, including the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) UK. He is currently a "Safer End of Engineered Life Champion (SEEL)", an ENGINEERING X initiative by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) UK and Lloyd’s Registered Foundation aimed at sustainable net-zero emissions. He has excelled as an academic researcher in previous internationally funded projects requiring new product design and manufacturing.
He is the energy steering committee representative (2022-24) at the Engineering for Change (E4C), supported by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). With 17 cumulative years of work experience in extraordinarily skilled endeavors, he provides advisory services to small and medium-sized industries towards upskilling and improving their processes in a bid to achieve net-zero emissions, green production systems that will guarantee a safer, sustainable, and carbon-free future. He is currently one of the Series Editors of this book: Localised Energy Transition in the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Andrew C. Eloka-Eboka is an emerging dynamic researcher, chemical and mechanical engineer with research incursion in the niche area of Food-Energy-Water-Climate nexus, Bioenergy, Biofuels, Process Engineering and the Environment. He has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Master of Engineering (Mechanical) with speciality in Energy Studies and a Bachelor Honours in Chemical Engineering/Technology. He is the Program Manager and Associate Professor in the School of Chemical and Mineral Engineering at the North-West University, Potchefstroom South Africa and leading a Research Group. He has delivered well accepted and seasoned research papers at different local and international conferences and has won best paper awards in 2013 and 2018. He had several research fellowships of TWAS ROCASA, CEPS and EU/AU policy at European Joint Research Centre, Ispra, Italy, TWAS DFG, EU/AU Intra Africa Mobility at the University of Tlemcen, Algeria amongst others. He was amongst the selected Africans who attended the European Science Forum in 2016. He has several grants, awards, technical reports, research collaborations and more than 50 peer-reviewed journal publications, over 0 conference proceedings, 5 book chapters and one book. He is an NRF Rated researcher and an Affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences. He is currently one of the Series Editors of this book: Localised Energy Transition in the 4th Industrial Revolution: Part of the Energy Transition in the 21st Century.
