This is a paperbound reprint of a 2005 book. On July 27, 1985, five hikers decided to attempt to climb Yosemite's Half Dome despite gathering storm clouds. By night's end, two were dead from a lightning strike, and three more were gravely wounded. In this volume outdoor writer and experienced climber Madgic draws upon interviews with the survivors to recount the events of that fateful day.
