Creating 300 paintings in three days was my creative challenge that began this book’s journey. I did it and included 274 of them.
Everything about this book is about imagination and its process. From being able to create the 300 paintings to the deciphering and interpretation of each painting’s title. During this challenge, my only focus was to be as creative and as fresh as possible with each creation. I followed the same process when it came to giving titles to each painting: I used whatever came first to mind. How to use this book as a helpful tool to exercise one’s imagination and mind: If you are one or ninety-one, you can cover up the title, look at the picture and see what you can come up with, or how many things can you see in one painting. Sometimes looking from all directions helps unveil the image. Or, just look at the picture and enjoy the paintings’ aesthetics of color and design. In any way, your mind and creative muscle will thank you for it. I found that focusing on time hinders one’s imagination. Use common sense, the mind, the intellect, throttles the creative flow and when that creative flow has closed, it takes time for the soul to open up once again. To open the creative flow, be in the moment, avoid thinking, do not look for results, only allow the newness and freshness of your creative soul to speak. If nothing comes, move one without judgement. Common knowledge would suggest that the last 50 paintings would be the most simple and boring because you used up all your imagination. Not so! I found that if one stays just open without thoughts but instead tries to feel what colors or words appear randomly the better are the results and the more intricate they become. I am confident that this book can inspire you to find the joy of imagining and be creative. Enjoy my book and allow its beauty to inspire you to delve into your own creativity because therein is where your limitless humanity and wisdom lies.More from the author: https: //MICHAELLM.com. #TheSmartofArt
