Maxwell Dickinson, was raised on an Arabian horse farm in Middle Tennessee, where her observations and first hand experiences among both aristocrats and farmers gives credence and color to this touching novel of homecoming. Steeped in the strict caste system of the south and its wariness of strangers, she brings a personal clarity and sensitivity to this romantic story. After moving to California as a teenager, Maxi spent many years competing in horse shows, playing polo and winning the United States Sweepstakes in Competitive Endurance Racing. She played guitar at guest ranches, toured with her Country-Western band, has written many articles for magazines, and won "Excellence in Writing" awards at Santa Barbara Writer’s Conference. These varied professional experiences and a constant yearning to "return home" add a personal insight into understanding the frustrations and happiness of the heroine who returns home to disprove Thomas Wolfe’s maxim, You Can’t Go Home Again. Maxwell now lives happily on a small ranch in California with her loyal dogs and Mini horses. Author of: Big Lick Walking Horses Bandana Country Suds, Around the World on a Horse You Kin Do It, Chile
