Mihailidis argues that fostering media literacy will create a more civic-minded, participatory culture. He examines both the challenges to media literacy, and the challenges to application of that media literacy to engagement practices throughout our culture in the digital age. Throughout the text he focuses on the level of civic engagement that is possible for future generations, given their ability to connect with each other and with information, digitally.
