Isolation in the cold of winter. That’s all Mark Jensen has as he fights to survive. Living in the small community of Grason, Idaho, Mark and his best friend Trevor have no one but themselves. They are shunned by their families and church simply for being gay. Cold and queer, the boys make do with what little they have, counting on no one but themselves in the stark Idaho countryside.

Mark’s struggles increase when he feels he can no longer confide in his best friend. The growing realization that he is bisexual confuses and conflicts him and leaves him feeling more alone than ever. Friendships are redefined and stretched to the limit as the two young men scratch by and they ask themselves; can they even survive each other?

Michael R. Collins was born at a very young age in the wilds of southern Idaho. After a few decades he finally got his fill of all the sagebrush and rattlesnakes he could eat and journeyed forth to the creative bosom of Austin, Texas. Now trying out Allentown, PA, he’s getting a taste of the east coast. Writing has always been tantamount to breathing, and he’s done a lot of both. Harboring massive commitment issues, he tends to write across all genres. His first published novel, Night Shall Overtake has been published by Black Bed Sheet Books. His second Pale Winter Sun, is making waves. He has also been published in Shadows & Light Anthology. He plays bass and is kind to animals and children.
