Eleanor is a sixteen year old girl who hides in the shadows of others. She begins to dream vividly and remembers great details upon her awake. In her dreams, she meets a magician named Hal who shows her the dreamworld and a escape from her boring day reality.

As she starts living in and out of her dreams, her secret dual life proves a struggle- as she begins to lose consciousness during the days at school. Unable to confide in her grandfather and friends at school about this, Elle dives deeper into the dreamworld in curiosity.

Her social status begins to sink, she manages to catch the eye of popular bad boy Leigh Forrest, and soon the rose coloured filters wear off as a real sense of danger creeps in. Pulled into a whirlwind of events, Eleanor is forced to look within herself as she discovers more about her reality and those around her.
