David’s story begins on March 11, 1989 when he has a massive heart attack. He tells of his nearly fatal episode of heart arrhythmia and the stress of having an implantable defibrillator in his abdomen for twenty months. He struggles to accept that his chance for a miracle transplant can only occur when another person dies. David receives a new heart in 1991 at the age of 46 and he tells how it has affected him and his family. "Mr. NewHeart" continues through the following years of blessing and challenge. David’s story is one of faith in God, courage, endurance, victory, and miracles. David is working on a book about his year in South Vietnam as an infantry lieutenant. There is more about this book on page 1 of Mr. NewHeart.
