Newspaper People is a children’s picture book that follows the protagonist Sheridan who is stuck in a City where he cannot truly express himself due to the extreme partisanship of it’s citizens. He is however one day contacted by a stranger who understands why this is and shows Sheridan the way to get him out of his current predicament through learning what is in the "secret book" that is in the partisan press’ office that he steals. He tries to tell the truth and the way out to the people of New Clone City but mock him and laugh him away. Feeling dejected, the strangers tells him how much he has learnt along the way and that there is no need to feel defeated even if the original goal was to help others out. Upon this realisation, Sheridan then decides to use the knowledge he has gathered to live his life as he has always wanted.
The book is a great alternative read for children as it explores a different and unique art style that kids can relate to. It also touches on themes not so commonly explored in most books that children from an early age should be exposed to both through the story telling and the pictures present throughout the book.
