Kālike kālarātryāḥ, krūraṁ tāṇḍavamāśrite

Saṁsāramalanāśāya, mṛtyuṁ nṛtyasi sā’mbike

O Kali, dark as the night of destruction,

In your fierce dance, you embody the storm,

Dancing upon the decay of the world,

You, O Mother, dance with death to cleanse all life.＂
