Laura is an illegal immigrant from Africa desperately looking for work in New York after surviving a tough journey via ship to America. On the other hand, David is a single father who’s had trouble finding a woman to love who’ll also be a good mother to his young daughter. Circumstances bring Laura and David together and she finds a job as a maid in his mansion. Laura gets along well with David’s daughter compared to David’s current fiancée who’s also cheating on him with one of his friends/business partner. David finds out a few days to the wedding and is distraught. Laura provides companionship during this difficult time.
