This book explores the intricacies of the post-pandemic world, delving into diverse themes such as international politics, diplomacy, democracy, migration, climate justice, mental well-being, education, human rights and the marginalised. It exposes the major fragilities in current systems and policies and provides suitable recommendations to reform them. The chapters study how the legitimacy of the world order and governance was tested by the COVID-19 pandemic: on the domestic front, it stretched and put to the test policies, politics, governance, relations between state and citizens. Priyanca Mathur is Associate Professor and Head at CERSSE, JAIN University, Bangalore. Her research intersects politics, public policy, gender and forced migration studies. Recent publications include ＂Forced Migration Trends in Asia Pacific＂ (2022) and ＂State of Research in Internal Displacement in Asia＂ (2020).

Rubina Pradhan is Assistant Professor at CERSSE, JAIN University, Bangalore, specializing in international organizations, conflict resolution, human rights, and environmental policy. Her recent work (2025) explores green budgeting for environmental sustainability in India. She holds a PhD from JNU, New Delhi.
