Rich has been recognized for his poetry since college. His first poems were published in his college's poem magazine. Most recently his poems have appeared in the Aziza Review and a 2011 anthology of poetry.

Now all of Rich's best poems are available in a single volume, Paraphernalia in My Pocket. This collection focuses on several themes including, love, death, nature, emotions, and relationships.
