The book in question is the result of a final course project (TCC) from the Tourism Department at the Federal University of Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys (UFVJM). This study surveyed tourism-related products and services in the community of Mendanha, located near the Biribiri State Park Conservation Unit in the city of Diamantina, Minas Gerais. The results show that the community does indeed have production associated with tourism, with the main product being handicrafts and the main service being family hospitality. In general, the community has a great interest in working with tourism, but lacks incentive and support from local agencies linked to the activity in the region and its surroundings.
