His areas of expertise include; remote sensing technology, water resources development, groundwater hydrology and modeling, climate change impact on water resources, open channel hydraulics, pipe network design, pumping systems design and management, well design and development, renewable energy and sustainable resource development. He has also received numerous awards on teaching and research including distinguish educator award, ASCE best paper award, outstanding researcher award, and globalization award.
