scholastic elt readers level 3: amazing grace with cd

Scholastic ELT Readers Series電影讀本為2008年系列新書，目前持續出版中。
此系列書籍，特別挑選可以讓青少年讀者或是英語學習者引發興趣的題材，內容涵蓋了當代著名的電影、電視、經典文學以及青少年小說等。
此書共分4個級數：
Starter level：適合具備300字彙以上讀者閱讀；
Level 1：適合具備600字彙以上讀者閱讀；
Level 2：適合具備1000字彙以上讀者閱讀；
Level 3：適合具備1500字彙以上讀者閱讀。
每一本書都是文字內容+朗讀CD，書內亦有節錄劇照，學習效果加倍。
書末還有2個特別單元：
" Fact File "─針對書籍內容探討相關的話題， 豐富有趣的讓人愛不釋手。
" Self-study Activities " ─以閱讀後的小測驗讓讀者學習英文更有系統與方法 。
內容簡介：
【奇異恩典】描寫18世紀英國議員威廉威伯福斯致力於提倡廢除黑奴法案的奮鬥歷程。兩百年前，他提倡廢奴的政見，對於當時需要農場人力以壯大國力的大英帝國是一大挑戰，更不為議會及上層階級所見容 .擁有一付好歌喉的威伯福斯，最喜歡唱的一首聖歌《奇異恩典》，歌詞由他的精神導師約翰牛頓牧師所寫。
　　威伯福斯花了 20 多年力倡廢奴法案，並收集奴隸交易犯罪的證據連署簽名來佐證他的政見。廢奴條約最後在 1807 年終於被英國國會通過，而同年《奇異恩典》的作詞者約翰牛頓牧師也逝世。也讓英國成為第一個廢除黑奴交易的國家，比美國林肯解放黑奴的政策早了三十多年。
