The Heisman Memorial Trophy, sometimes known as the Heisman Trophy or The Heisman, is given out every year to the best player in college football. Winners exemplify a combination of excellent skill, diligence, perseverance, and hard work.

The Heisman Trophy Trust presents it in early December, just before the postseason bowl games.
