The author is Ena Dayne’s grandson. Some 20 years ago it became apparent that very little was known about her career and my mother(her daughter) was keen to find out as much as possible. The result was many years spent libraries and archives as well as surfing the web. Much of what was uncovered was extending the knowledge already in the family but added much new information especially Ambrose Vink, my grandfather. It seemed an interesting story so I decided to write this little book to cover her career as well as providing so family history titbits that researchers may find useful.
