She hails from a family of gifted and anointed singers and Keena followed what was passed down through generations staying true to her call. Keena sung her first solo at the young age of 4 years old never looking back or neglecting her gifts, she was classically trained as she attended Southfield Lathrup Senior High School and continued to sing and record in the Detroit area with regional artist such as Derrick Starks & Today’s Generation. Keena has always felt and known from her first poetic effort that she was born to be a poet. From the humble start of writing welcome and hospitality greetings for her home church Seth Temple Church of God In Christ as well as various church conventions, this talented poet has had poetry published by the National Society of Poetry from the years 1990-1998.
