How to Judge a Book by its Cover is an exploration of human nature. World War III has broken out over the South Pacific and the Eastern Alliance are on the doorstep of Australia. The brutality of the fighting has caused the normally passive Psychicae United to become involved. The international organisation of super humans, while feared and despised for their power, are recognised as important allies in the war. Internal corruption of the organisation ensues.

Avalon is a high-ranking psychicae. She has been given the responsibility of defending Australia, but with traitors at her back it proves an arduous task and her charming subordinate Cato doesn't make it any easier to concentrate.

Cato knows nothing of what such power is. She is more concerned with the wind, the swells and the tide. But her sleepy seaside village is about to become a defensive base complete with psychicaes, soldiers and strange beasts. The commotion brings with it the scary and mysterious Avalon and somehow Cato is dragged into the more powerful psychicae's circle.

It seems this war will change both lives.
