Teedzani Thapelo was born in Jacklas No.1 village in Tati East, Botswana and educated at McConnell College, the University of Botswana, the London School of Economics and the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London in Britain. He has worked as a teacher, research assistant, research associate, university lecturer, researcher and human rights campaigner. In 2003, he was nominated Fellow of the Institute of International Education at the University of New York and he spent the period 2004-2005 as Africa Guest Researcher and Visiting Scholar at Nordic Africa Institute at Uppsala, Sweden. He has lived and traveled in England, France, Sweden, Canada (was married to a Canadian for ten years), South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Presently, he resides in Mapoka Village in Tati West, with his eighty-one year old mother and little boys (Davis and Rabasi); his eldest son, Alex is studying in Canada while living with his mother who teaches at Oshawa in Toronto. Some of Mr. Thapelo’s articles have been published in newspapers, magazines and peer-reviewed journals. Season of Thunder is his debut novel.
