Cast into the ocean by the wind gods, Thoris of Rot and Illa, Princess of Haldolen, start out on an adventure that takes them to the Island of the Man-eaters and ultimately into the clutches of the Swordmen of Vistar. There they must fight alongside the wizard Xalla and his daughter in an effort to gain their freedom and a chance to return to their homeland.
