It’s biographical in nature and explains in honest detail how the author took on one seemingly insurmountable challenge after another.

He went from a sedentary lifestyle to one day being inspired to take up running for the first time in 1977 and completing his first marathon just five months later in under three and a half hours.

That first accomplishment gave him the confidence and self-belief to run many more marathons and seven years later take on and complete the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon in 1984.

At the end of a long career that spanned 25 years as a marathoner and Ironman triathlete he taught himself how to use a computer and build a website with the goal of passing on all he learned during his Ironman career. His goal was to inspire others around the world who heard the call of the Ironman to take on the daunting challenge of this iconic race for themselves.

He went on to become an author of a book called Ironstruck...the Ironman Triathlon Journey in 2006 that is still popular among the novice triathetes of the world and has since been updated.

This led to eight more books that were all written with the same message for his readers.
