They have been fortunate to meet others with the same love for travel, creating the BEST EVER GANG. It is this group which inspired Larry’s first book, Killer Buffalo of the Serengeti, and now this effort. A graduate of Whittier College with both a BA in History and a Master’s in Education, Larry spent his career at Azusa High School in the San Gabriel Valley suburb of Los Angeles. He taught every social science class offered, reading, drama, and was department chair for most of the 35 years he was there. He also coached both basketball and football. He worked, and still does, as an accreditation team member and chair for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In 2000-2001 he was the Azusa High School, Azusa Unified School District, and Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year. In the last years at Azusa he became a mentor for new teachers, which led to his employment by National, where he supervises student teachers and teaching interns. He also scores Teacher Performance Assessments, which are required for a credential in California.
