　　溝通始於需求，詞彙使用體現在需求中。本書以歐洲語言共同框架(Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR)的行動導向理念 (Action-Oriented approach)為精神，從滿足初級學習者溝通需求為出發點，選擇9個日常生活中與個人生活密切相關的主題，並在各項主題中置入合適的詞彙，為詞彙設計實用的生活例句或對話，希望幫助學習者發展在這些簡單情境中陳述、回應、開展話題的能力。

　　Design Rationale

　　Communication is based on needs, and vocabulary usage arises from such needs. This book applies an Action-Oriented approach from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and takes the beginner’s communication needs as its priority. Nine themes related to daily life were chosen as the respective unit topics and each theme includes relevant vocabularies with useful daily conversations or example sentences to help learners to develop the competence to describe, reply, and communicate in these situations.
