內容簡介

Journey to the Land of Giants

Short Summary: "Journey to the Land of Giants"

In the town library, on the highest shelf, there is an unusual book that almost nobody touches anymore. It is not ignored because it is boring. It is ignored because it feels stubborn, like it does not want to be opened by just anyone. Dust covers the shelf like soft gray snow, and the quiet in that part of the library feels thick and calm.

The book has a deep green leather cover with cracks like dry riverbeds. On the front is a silver lock, but there is no keyhole. Instead, there is a smooth circle in the middle. It seems like the book does not want a key. It wants someone who understands it. It wants the right kind of hands.

One windy Saturday afternoon, a fourteen-year-old girl named Mira Vale enters the library to escape the cold and noise outside. Mira is the kind of person who notices small details that others miss. She sees the librarian’s pen always rolling toward the edge of the desk. She notices the old clock ticking faster when storms are coming. Mira is not always fearless, but she is very curious-and her curiosity pulls her toward mysteries instead of pushing her away.

Mira is not alone. Her little brother Jax comes with her. He is ten years old and always full of questions. His questions come quickly, like bubbles rising in water. Their best friend, Toma, is also with them. Toma is sixteen, calm, and loves puzzles. He carries a notebook everywhere, ready to solve anything strange.
They are not there for homework. Mira has found an old newspaper clipping with a rumor: a map that redraws itself, a country beyond the fog, and a place called the Land of Giants. Mira tells herself it is only a legend, but the idea stays in her mind and makes her heart beat faster.

Mira climbs the narrow stairs to the highest shelf. The air feels colder and quieter, as if the library is holding its breath. When she touches the green book, the silver circle warms under her hand. The lock clicks-almost like it is happy. The book opens by itself.

Inside is not written text. There is one page of parchment showing mountains shaped like sleeping faces. In the center, shining ink says: "Journey to the Land of Giants-for those who dare to grow." Then the ink starts moving. Lines stretch and curl like living vines, forming a path that was not there before.

Jax and Toma stare in amazement. The library lights flicker. A cold breeze moves through the shelves, even though the windows are closed. Pale fog rises from the page, soft as breath and bright as moonlight. It spills over the book like a doorway opening in the air. Mira knows she should close the book and step back. But curiosity is a kind of courage. She whispers, "Stay close," and together they step into the fog-into a journey that will change them from the inside out.

Benefits of reading storybooks

Reading promotes curiosity, attentiveness, and empathy. Children and adults become smarter when they explore ideas, develop knowledge, and learn languages. Stories demonstrate choices and consequences, explaining how to behave in various situations. Regular reading also improves memory, reduces stress, and develops imagination, creativity, and critical thinking abilities.
