Visions of the Multiverse

Manly (U. of Rochester) works on experiments at high-energy accelerators around the world, investigating the structure of matter and nature's forces. He offers students and general readers an overview of the different multiple universe concepts--drawn from quantum mechanics, cosmology, string theory-based cosmology, and ideas about a mathematics-based reality bordering on the religious--along with the background to understand them informally.
