Food Medicine Chef Bianca Rose Martinez is dedicated to empowering people with the healing power of organic foods. She graduated with her degree in Communication Design and Environmental Studies at California State University Chico where she began to see the broader environmental impacts our food choices have not only on our own health but the health of our planet. She began giving public speeches using her art and design skills to tell the story of how our food systems became so far removed from the more natural practices of generations before. Targeting the introduction to Genetically Modified ingredients, Factory Farming, chemical additives, artificial flavorings and processed foods as an underlining cause of many of the health issues faced by those consuming a western diet. She published her first book in 2010 and has continued the Compassionate Eating message through her services which includes being a private chef for healing retreats, teaching cooking classes and giving live demos at various locations including the community college and local hospitals. She has been featured in several publications including Connect to Wellbeing Magazine (Formerly Your Health Connection), the Ventura County Star, The Ventura Breeze and Edible Magazine. Bianca has also been interviewed on the Kim Pagano Radio Show, been on a televised healing panel, Organized Public Events including the Green Business Expo in Ventura where she was a keynote Speaker and written articles for local magazines and newspapers. Bianca currently works as a private chef in Ojai California making healing foods for retreats and teaching food medicine cooking classes.
