This research investigated the possibilities of using music production software as a teaching tool at Espaço Musical ENNE, located in Madre de Deus, a city in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador. The method that seemed most appropriate to us is the Case Study, within a Descriptive Qualitative Approach, in which, through the study of the phenomenon, one has a clear view of its processes and progress. Data was collected from a music teaching experience inspired by active methods, combined with the use of available technologies such as music production software. A course plan was drawn up that included basic music fundamentals, as well as classroom activities combining theoretical demonstrations and practical activities. Visual and sound forms were explored in the music production tool Cakewalk by Bandlab, to show properties of sound, elements of music and elementary musical notation. It was concluded that the tools are effective and intuitive, rich in didactic possibilities, facilitating the flow of teaching and lesson plans.
