Mary Lennox was a bad-tempered, selfish girl. At the age of nine, her parents died
during an epidemic and she was taken to live with her uncle, Mr. Archibald Craven, in Yorkshire, England.

Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924)

Frances Hodgson Burnett’s writing was not well received by the public, until she published Little Lord Fauntleroy (1886), her first children’s book. Her later works including The Secret Garden (1888) and A Little Princess (1909) are what she is best known for today.

作者簡介：

Andrew Chien

Andrew Chien was born in Taiwan in 1976. He moved to Monterey, California in 1998 and lived there for two and a half years. During this period of time, he earned his MA degree in Chinese/English translation at Monterey Institute of International Studies.

After moving back to Taiwan in 2000, he worked for a local tableware company as an assitant manager and at an American advertising company as an English Copywriter. Since 2003, he has been teaching, writing and translating. When not at work, Andrew enjoys being a traveler and a gourmet.
